Grand Hotel wedding in Eastbourne
The ‘White Palace by the sea’, officially known as the Grand Hotel Eastbourne, was the grand location for Virginia and Paul’s family wedding celebration. Shooting at this luxury hotel with so much history is always a delight. The attention to detail, the Spanish touch and the proximity to the sea, gave a sense of style and class to their big day. Virginia told me that one of the traditional customs in Spanish weddings is for the bride and groom to share 13 coins, which represent their commitment to sharing the goods they have and will have in their future together. These coins from her family date back to the 18 hundreds!

Some of my favourite photos at the five star, 150-year-old Victorian hotel, which helped to record the atmosphere for the bride and groom, were the ones taken outside. I always try to capture the bride and groom at new locations with new angles and a fresh style. Being original is important to me. The garden and the close proximity to the sea enabled me to get creative and achieve that. I also thoroughly enjoyed taking images during their silent disco. It was a new one for me and I heard it was a great hit and went onto the early hours 🙂
Congratulations once again to the lovely couple and also to the Grand Hotel Eastbourne wedding team! It’s easy to see why they won the national wedding venue accolade in the 2014 at the Wedding Dates awards. What better setting to start married life together?
