Sunny Brighton beach wedding of Tom & Jess' at the Mercure hotel.
As one of the professional Sussex wedding photographers from Eastbourne I have the pleasure to photograph regularly on the breathtaking South Coast.
I met the newly engaged couple at a Brighton wedding fair where they selected one of my wedding photography offers at the time, which included a bespoke, luxury, 20 page wedding album, which are hand finished by skilled master bookbinders in England. They fell in love with the album as soon as they saw it.
Both the wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Mercure Hotel which is just a pebble throw away from Brighton beach - always a wonderful and ever-changing setting for a Sussex wedding photographer.
I arrived nice and early to photograph the bride getting ready with the bridal party. I always like to capture the bride’s shoes as it’s such a special item for the bride. Here I pictured one of my favourite bridal shoe shots thanks to a simple and symmetrical image, with a glass bubbly in-between and the wedding ring on the long heel. I love it!
I don’t like to see the boys miss out so I asked the groom to arrive early. This is handy for them as they get used to me before the ceremony starts. I usually shoot some candid and lightly directed images of the groom and best man.
We used the Brighton Bandstand for the couple shots and for the group shots of the wedding party. Half the images were also taken on the beach. For these I was in my usual position - on the floor - capturing great angles with the old pier in the background. These are some of my favourite images as I really feel the pebbles, deck chairs and pier captures the essence of a sussex wedding on the seafront - all we needed was some fish and chips :-).
As soon as I posted my favourite images onto Facebook I received this positive feedback from the bride: "Hi, Maria the photos on Facebook are amazing! Thank you so much! Jess".
